On a crisp winter evening in December 1974, snowflakes drifted across the stage at Music Hall as Cincinnati Ballet presented its very first performance of Frisch’s Presents The Nutcracker. This magical moment launched a time-honored tradition for our community that connects families across generations and creates a wealth of treasured memories.
Cincinnati Ballet presents a world premiere of our New Nutcracker in December 2011. Like each individual glittering flake of snow, we ask you to shine and help make sugar plum dreams come true for the next generation of dance and music lovers.

When you come to see our new production and witness the breathtaking Snow Scene with gorgeous snow falling, you’ll know that you helped to make it all possible!
Your tax-deductible capital gift will directly benefit nearly 500,000 audience members over the next 15 years! As The Nutcracker typically represents 50% of Cincinnati Ballet’s annual ticket sales, your donation helps maintain the jobs of more than 200 full and part-time employees.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

"The Nutcracker is our most important community outreach tool we have. The production itself is a cultural ambassador to our region, offering so many their first experience or exposure to our art form. It’s so important for us to provide an exciting, vibrant, fun adventure to instill that love of dance in our community."
- Victoria Morgan, Cincinnati Ballet Artistic Director and CEO
